Madinah to Makkah journey — private Umrah taxi Saudi Arabia

The Journey: Madinah to Makkah

Most guests enter Ihram at Dhu al-Hulayfah (Abyar Ali), the Miqat just outside Madinah, and your driver can stop there for you to make intention and pray two rak'ahs before continuing — tell us when booking and it is built into the schedule. From there the highway runs south through desert and rocky hills, with service-station stops every ninety minutes or so.

Approaching Makkah, non-Muslim routes and checkpoints do not affect our licensed pilgrim transfers; your driver follows the pilgrim highway directly to your hotel district. Many guests prefer to arrive, rest, and perform Umrah after a sleep — your driver will happily advise on timing based on how busy the Haram is that day.

Madinah to Makkah FAQs

How much is a taxi from Madinah to Makkah?

Fixed fares start at SAR 460 for an Economy Sedan, SAR 580 for a Hyundai Staria, SAR 690 for a Toyota Hiace and SAR 1,150 for a Family SUV or Luxury Class. One fare per vehicle covers driver, fuel, tolls and luggage.

Can the driver stop at the Miqat so we can enter Ihram?

Yes. The Miqat at Dhu al-Hulayfah is minutes from Madinah on the Makkah road, and stopping there to pray and enter Ihram is a standard part of this route — mention it when booking so we time the departure around it.

How long is the Madinah to Makkah drive?

Roughly 4.5 to 5 hours over about 450 km, including rest stops. Night drives are often smoother; your driver will suggest the best departure time for your day.

We want to perform Umrah as soon as we arrive — is that sensible?

Many pilgrims do, while others rest first and go after Fajr. Both are fine. Tell the driver your plan and he will drop you at the hotel entrance closest to your preferred Haram gate, and handle the luggage so you can move quickly.

Can we add a Badr stop travelling from Madinah to Makkah?

Yes, Badr lies off this highway and can be added for a modest extra fare with about an hour extra on the journey. Book it in advance so the driver plans fuel and rest stops around the detour.
